Members who attended the Annual General Meeting of the New Zealand American Association on Tuesday, 26 June, 2007, were pleased to hear the announcement of a special annual prize which will honour the service of Hon. Robert Talbot, retiring chairman. New chairman, Greg Crott, made special mention of Rob's leadership skills and passion for the association which has guided the rejuvenation of the club and its membership activities over the last three to four years and expressed the gratitude of the managing committee and membership. It was then announced that a special prize called the "Hon. Robert Talbot Prize" will be awarded each year in grateful acknowledgement of Rob and his service to NZAA. The prize will be made to a citizen of New Zealand or the United States who has similar goals as the New Zealand American Association: advancing friendship and mutual understanding between New Zealanders and Americans. |
